Material Design 3 – Components

Material 3 is the latest version of Google’s open-source design system. You can design and build beautiful, usable products with Material 3 components.

Components are interactive building blocks for creating a user interface. They can be organized into five categories based on their purpose:

Action

Action components help people achieve an aim.

Communication

Communication components provide helpful information.

Containment

Containment components hold information and actions – including other components like buttons, menus, or chips.

Navigation

Navigation components help people move through the UI.

Selection

Selection components let people specify choices.
