Jamaica I – Montego Bay – Takuma Hotel

Took a trip to Jamaica to relax. A 2 hr flight from Ft Lauderdale on Southwest airlines. From Dec 28 to Jan 4…

Our first night, we stayed at the Takuma Boutique Hotel. It’s a relatively new hotel nestled in the hills of historical Mt Zion which was a nice retreat and gave us that local Jamaican vibe we were looking for…

We stayed in one of the suites on the 2nd floor. They look just like the pictures online. Nice and clean, however, getting consistent hot water was a hassle.

The booking comes with breakfast, but you have to pay for other meals. We got dinner the times we stayed here and it was always on point, excpet for the one time they brought our order out cold. But that only happened once…ackee and saltfish, peanut porridge, fried dumplings, callalloo and homemade sorrel to name a few…🍴

But the true appeal of this location was the VIEWS!!! No elevator to the top, but the 360 degree panoramic views of Montego Bay from the rooftop terrace are totally worth the stairexercise…

This place was so nice for the price that we ended up staying here again for two more nights at the end of our trip. Sunrise in MoBay is at 6:49 am so I woke up twice before sunrise and caught some amazing shots😍. For my pro shots, I use a Canon EOS REBEL T5…

The owner of Takuma is a descendant of the area and the church was built by his great-grandfather who was a slave. It has stood for over 200 years! Catching the steeple as the sun was rising was one of the highlights of this trip. Just breathtaking! I think this is my favorite shot from about a thousand I took πŸ˜‚πŸ“ΈπŸ“ΈπŸ“ΈπŸ“ΈπŸ“Έ…
